How the three-card reading works
A three-card tarot reading lays out three cards in a row. Each position has a job. In this tool, the first card is the past, the second is the present, and the third is the future. You choose three cards from the face-down spread. The cards come from all 78 Rider-Waite-Smith cards and are drawn upright. Your result stays in your browser and is never stored.
What each position means
- Past
- What shaped the situation: an earlier choice, habit, event, or belief that still has influence.
- Present
- What is asking for attention now. This is often the card to spend the most time with.
- Future
- Where the situation is heading on its current path, and what is coming toward you.
How to read the three cards together
- Look at all three before reading any one. Notice repeated suits, colors, numbers, or a shift from calm to tense images.
- Find the link between past and present. Ask how the first card led to the second.
- Read the future card as a path. Ask, "What is this card asking me to prepare for?"

- Write one sentence that ties the cards into a story, then choose one small next step.
